Want to join Basingstoke 609 dive club?

If you have reached this page then you are obviously interested in joining Basingstoke 609. Having looked at the site we hope that you have got a flavour of what the club has to offer both in terms of diving and on a social basis.

The club regularly organises dive trips to suit all levels, from novices to more experienced divers. Most of our diving is in the UK along the Hampshire and Dorset coast line, largely from our club Osprey Viper RIB, although we do occasionally do some Hard Boat diving.

In addition we annually make trips further afield which this year, as you can see from our events calendar, include the Farne Islands, Plymouth and Salcombe. We also arrange an overseas trip each year; past destinations have included the Red Sea and Gozo; this year members will be heading to Tenerife.

Our social calendar includes fortnightly get togethers at the Sherborne St John Social Club where members meet to discuss past and future diving. We also have an annual social ‘The Last Hurrah’ for past and current members, and have guest speakers. Most recently we heard from Amy Dale at the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust on their seal tagging project and Paul Duxfield from Cameras Underwater joined us to give guidance on how to improve our photography skills

How do I join?

Joining Basingstoke 609 is easy. You simply need to complete a membership form and medical form, and provide a photocopy of your diving qualification. If you are joining from another agency we are able to convert your current qualifications to BSAC.

If you have already decided that you wish to join, then simply email ‘membership’ through the contact us section and we will arrange for a membership pack to be posted to you.

How much is it?

The annual cost of joining Basingstoke 609 is £156 and membership to BSAC is around £56 depending on qualification level . The club year runs from September to August and the membership costs are reduced proportionally dependent on when you join.
